What is microfinance?

Microfinance helps people in poor countries start a bussiness so they can provide their families  with a good education (so when they grow older  they can obtain a good job), food, and any other essentials needed to provide for their families.

Here is how microfinance works:

An entrepreneur applies for a loan on www.worldvision.org or www.kiva.org.

People (like you and me) go onto either website and choose someone to loan money to.

With the money you have given an entrepreneur they will buy things needed to help them run their bussiness.

Then when the entrepreneur has made enough money they will pay you back the money you have loaned them plus interest. (interest can range from 17%- 23%)

MICROFINANCE

A microfinance program is when people are put on sites like Kiva and World Vision.

When people like her are on the sites people can donate 25$ to the.

The purpose of this program is so people can help people all around the world

to start up or help their on little businesses. The business then repays the loan in

6-12 months but at the same time makes a profit. They make the profit because they

needed more to be more productive so the person repays the money he/she owes with a little to spare.
